Dudley Laufman dance caller, musician and poet.
Seven Stars Arts Center is pleased to welcome dance caller, musician and poet Dudley Laufman, a key figure in the contra dance revival of the 1970’s. Dudley will join us on Friday, May 6 at 7PM. Many of you will remember “Dudley dances” in Strafford, Lyme and elsewhere in the Upper Valley. Dudley received the Country Dance and Song Society of America’s Lifetime Contribution Award in 2007, and in 2009 was chosen as a National Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Dudley will present “a story or two, a poem or two, a tune or two” on melodeon, concertina and fiddle. He will be joined by local musicians Emerson Gale, Rachel Clark, Chip Hedler and likely others.
Doors open at 6:30. Please arrive by 6:45; that will help us with the time we need to check vaccination cards and IDs, and get everyone seated by 7 pm. Thank you!
Total seating is limited to 60. Children under 12 – free admittance.
We are requiring proof of all COVID vaccinations and Photo ID. Masks are still required. Children younger than 5 do not need vaccinations, but all children must also wear masks.
