Travel Advisory: Ship Pond Road Bridge Netting Installation

PLYMOUTH, MA—The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced on Monday that it will be installing protective netting on Ship Pond Road Bridge over Route 3 starting Monday, Dec. 14 and ending Wednesday, Dec. 16. The work will take place from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday and will include traffic management operations and temporary lane closures. A minimum of two lanes will be open at all times, said MassDOT in a press release. On Monday evening, the Route 3 northbound low-speed lane and middle-lane will be closed. As the work progresses, the two lanes will reopen and the high-speed lane will be temporarily closed, said the press release. On Tuesday evening, the Route 3 southbound low-speed lane and middle-lane will be temporarily closed. As the work progresses, the two lanes will reopen and the high-speed lane will be temporarily closed. On Wednesday morning, workers will finish installing protective netting and timber shielding on the bridge.
