PLYMOUTH, MA — There will be no senior awards nights, proms or graduation in June for most high school students across the state this spring due to the coronavirus health crisis. In Plymouth, however, the graduation classes of Plymouth North and Plymouth South will be honored in a series of Thursday Night Lights shows where seniors can drive by in their cars and celebrate their impending achievements. The first was scheduled at Plymouth North this Thursday with Plymouth South planning their first night next week. The lights at Plymouth North were to be on for 20 minutes starting at 8:20. Students are told to stay in their cars at all times to protect social distancing guidelines. Eagles: Tonight is our first "Thursday Night Lights". We will be lighting the field and allowing students to drive the back road of the school for 20 min. starting at 8:20 tonight. Please stay in your cars, but come through to celebrate our students, athletes & the class of 2020. pic.twitter.com/kA1i37bJeO— Plymouth North HS (@PlymouthNorthHS) April 30, 2020 Plymouth South plans to turn on its stadium and athletic field lights next week as part of its effort to let light shine through the darkness of the coronavirus health emergency. pic.twitter.com/CaDZkdFcw9— Plymouth South HS (@plymouthsouth) April 30, 2020
