PLYMOUTH, MA — High school graduation will go on as scheduled in Plymouth as scheduled on June 6 — even if it will look a lot different. Plymouth Superintendent of Schools Gary Maestas sent a letter to students on Friday telling them that, following a Zoom meeting with class student leaders, a decision has been made to hold the ceremony on the original date "with all the appropriate social distancing protocols that exist today." "This is an unusual time and we will progress with graduation observing these precautions and make it as memorable as possible," Maestas said. He said the district's plans require permits and approvals at the state level. "In the meantime, we will continue to prepare you for graduation," Maestas wrote, adding that a video will soon be sent to students regarding the details of how the ceremony will take place when the permits are finalized.
