Description

Join us on May 12, 2022, to celebrate Austin’s new voice for active transportation advocacy - Safe Streets Austin. As long-time advocacy organizations and champions for safe streets, Bike Austin, Walk Austin, and Vision Zero ATX have come together to form Safe Streets Austin. Safe Streets Austin is a movement to transform Austin’s streets, bikeways, and trails into safe, vibrant, and equitable places for people of all ages and abilities to walk, bike, roll, and gather. Come celebrate with us! Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served beginning at 5:30pm, with remarks to follow at 6:30pm. Please register by May 11. The Tudor House is located in the southwest corner of Pease District Park. We'll provide extra bike racks at the southern end of Pease Park, and there's additional car parking at the Pease Park Conservancy across Lamar Boulevard. Click the icons below the map for directions by bus, bike, car or foot. Please don't drink and drive. More about us Safe Streets Austin, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that leverages over 40 years of local advocacy experience, seeks to unite the community through grassroots engagement, build a common vision for streets and urban trails, and rally decision makers to manifest this vision. We organize city-wide and neighborhood events for activities, volunteering, canvassing, and collaborating. We facilitate and publicize demonstration projects, such as Living Streets installations, and we publicly celebrate successful programs and initiatives.
