DELRAY BEACH, FL — A South Florida man who burned tired marks into an LGBT street mural last June is required to write a 25-page essay about the Pulse night club shooting in Orlando before his sentencing, according to Palm Beach County court documents. Alexander Jerich, 20, of Lake Worth pleaded guilty to felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor reckless driving after leaving tire skid marks on a newly painted LGBT streetscape mural at the intersection of NE 1st Street and NE 2nd Avenue in Delray Beach in June of 2021. A citizen captured the vandalism by Jerich, who was in his truck and attending a rally for former President Donald Trump's birthday, on video. Before he's sentenced June 7, Jerich, a Lake Worth resident, must write the essay about the Pulse shooting, which left 49 people dead and more than 50 people wounded at the LGBT night club in 2016.
