STAMFORD, CT — Cloonan Middle School was locked down Tuesday morning and police were called to the school after there was a fight between two students, according to Principal David Tate. Tate said the lockdown was a part of the district's standard protocols for these kinds of situations. Stamford Public Schools spokesperson Justin Martin said the lockdown was lifted shortly after the incident. "The responsible students have been immediately disciplined and will face further disciplinary action under our Board of Education policies," Tate said in a letter to the Cloonan community. "We make every effort to create and maintain a safe environment for all students and staff and have zero tolerance for this behavior," Tate added. "Please take this opportunity to reinforce this with your child."
