What's Up Prince William April 25, 2022 The Human Services Alliance of Greater Prince William is distributing money to help the community recover from the lasting impact of the pandemic. Through a partnership with Prince William County, the organization plans to distribute $10 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) by 2024. The focus of the grants were specified in a press release from the Prince William County Office of Communications. The press release details COVID-19 recovery efforts such as aiding in childcare costs, emergency shelter, hunger relief programs, and access to mental and behavioral health assistance. In the first round, more than $6 million went toward grants ranging from $10,000 to $300,000, and were awarded to 33 organizations. Such examples are organizations like George Mason University – which provides free mental health support to Prince William County residents – and ACTION in Community Through Service (ACTS) – which has a community feeding assistance program and offers counseling and childcare for those impacted by domestic violence.
