Description
DARIEN, CT — An investigation has been launched after a man was assaulted earlier this month at a home he was doing work for in Darien, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros said the man got off a city bus at Post Road, near Hecker Avenue, on April 4 around 1 p.m.
The man told officers another person got off at this stop as well and followed him along Hecker Avenue. When the man arrived at the house he was doing work for, the suspect approached the man and began to struggle with him, Skoumbros said.
The man eventually broke free from the suspect and ran inside the house through an unlocked back door, however the suspect forced the door open and began to punch the man. During the struggle, the suspect stole cash from the man's pocket, Skoumbros said.
The man sustained injuries to his face and arm but refused medical attention. The suspect was last seen walking towards the Post Road, Skoumbros said.
