Art and journaling
Our first class in the series “Art Journaling as a Spiritual Practice” was a great success. While it is preferable that you attended the initial class, where we learned how to set-up our composition books as a journal and learned a scripture engagement technique known as SOAP, it’s not too late to dive in and learn how to incorporate art as a new facet of your worship time with the Lord.
Class 2 is scheduled for Monday, May 16, 2022, at 6:15pm. You don’t have to own a bunch of art supplies or a fancy journal. You don’t even have to be “an artist.” You just need to be curious about interacting with God in new ways. As we delve into the various techniques we will use in our journals, you will gain confidence in your ability to express yourself artistically as we incorporate your prayers and spiritual longings into this beautiful expression of your life in Christ.
What to bring for class #2:
• Your “kit” -- a lined composition book…the kind you buy for school aged children. (No spirals, please.) Any art supplies you may have, like crayons and markers. A glue-stick. A pen and a pencil. These supplies can be purchased at any “dollar store.”
• Special items for this class: scissors, 1 or 2 magazines.
Cost: $20.00 per class. We will be meeting every 3 weeks. If you missed the first class and are joining us for the second class, a one-time cost of $30.00 (instead of $20.00) will include a recap sheet so you can “catch up” to the rest of the class.
Date and time: Monday, May16, 2022 @ 6:15pm. Class 3 is June 6, 2022.
Feel free to bring snacks and something to drink in a container with a sealed lid.
