Town Property. This article will amend the Bylaw that governs how the Town disposes of personal property (tangible items like furniture, vehicles, etc.) that it no longer needs or that no longer has value. The bylaw change will allow the Select Board to create a policy that mirrors or is more restrictive of the Massachusetts General Law that governs this disposition. The current bylaw is so restrictive that a literal reading of the law would require Select Board approval for valueless items, like trash.
