Arkansas Elite Welding Academy is pleased to offer six hours of professional development training to high school ag teachers on July 22.
Training Objectives: To gain knowledge, confidence, and basic understanding of the following welding processes. Machine settings and weld safety will also be covered.
Processes Provided*: GMAW (Mig), SMAW (Stick), GTAW (Tig), and Oxy/Acetylene Torch Cutting
*Participants may choose which process/processes they want to receive training in.
Participants will run beads on Flat, Horizontal, and Vertical plates and then progress to T-joints in the 2F and 3F positions. Participants will also be able to practice on the 5F pipe to plate SMAW 6010/7018 test coupon. This is the process that will be used for the seniors competing in the 2023 welding competition.
Added bonus for Training Participants: Arkansas Elite Welding Academy will distribute sample high school welding curriculum.
PPE Required: Long Sleeve 100% cotton or FR rated shirt, Leather work shoes or boots, Leather gloves, Safety Glasses, and a Welding hood.
Training Cost: $350
Optional tool package: $125 (The AEWA optional tool package includes a welding hood, welding lens, safety glasses, and leather gloves)
AEWA set up "free" tickets through EventBrite just so participants could register to attend. The training cost is $350. This cost includes materials and supplies and lunch. AEWA will send an invoice for the training to the email provided. Participants can purchase an optional tool package which includes a welding hood, welding lens, safety glasses, and leather gloves for an additional $125. Confirmation of payment is due before the training begins on July 22.
