SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — In South Orange County, it doesn't matter where you are — take a look around, and you'll find ample evidence of nature everywhere you turn.
San Juan Capistrano resident photographer Kristine Erickson ventures out into nature to photograph the natural wonders that she sees, big and small. Erickson told Patch she saw this pair of house sparrows off of Calle Arroyo, near the city's 24-Hour Fitness.
House sparrows are common sights in developed areas across the United States, according to AllAboutBirds.com. They prefer to make their homes out of structures and are seen visiting backyard feeders, where they eat most kinds of birdseed, especially millet, corn and sunflower seed.
