SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped 1 cent Tuesday to $5.735 after rising a half- cent over the previous three days. The average price is 3.2 cents less than one week ago and 27.6 cents lower than one month ago but $1.697 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Price drops "have slowed substantially (because) gas demand in California is better than expected and West Coast gasoline stockpiles are down," Marie Montgomery, a public relations specialist with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service, citing information from the Oil Price Information Service. — City News Service
