Here are the top five stories today in Sacramento: A local roller derby team was just getting started in its new venture when thieves ransacked the new facility. This non-profit is all about giving back to the community, but this is not the way it had in mind. Thousands of dollars of equipment and memorabilia was taken. The organization is determined to get through this and keep moving forward, finding ways to skate and give back to the community, but it needs your help. It is hoping to get a boost through the big day of giving coming up. (CBS Sacramento)G.A.P is a Sacramento nonprofit that is working to curb violence in the Sacramento region by focusing on the youth in the community. According to its leader, G.A.P. stands for "Gang Awareness and Prevention" as well as "God Answers Prayers." "We wanted to offer something that was different than your traditional church," G.A.P. director Randal Broadhurst told KCRA 3. "Something that was unique, that they could relate to." The nonprofit focuses on people 12- to 24-year-olds who are currently incarcerated or were incarcerated in Sacramento County by providing mentorship, food, shelter, job training, education help and other resources."We just want to keep them from re-offending and going back inside prison," Broadhurst said. (KCRA3) 700 crime victims left Stockton early Monday morning to march to the capital. These marchers are hoping to raise awareness about the victims of deadly crimes and some of the ways the community can help. They will be highlighting victims crime bills and money for youth and mental health and addiction services. This march kicks off a two day event in the state capital which is expected to include an address by Attorney General Rob Banta. The event will start today at the SAFECU Convention Center and will proceed Wednesday to the Capitol building. (ABC10)Albert Ochoa, a social media influencer from Sacramento who gained national attention when Kylie Jenner agreed to be his high school prom date, is now headed into the boxing ring for a celebrity match. Ochoa has more than 229,000 followers on social media since getting the attention of Jenner and taking her to prom in 2017 at Rio Americano High School. Sacramento's very own Tony "The Tiger" Lopez, the three-time world boxing champion, is helping Ochoa prepare for his upcoming match. (KCRA3)Sacramento Police are in a standoff with an armed person in the area of 58th Street and Fruitridge Road who is holding at least one person against their will. SWAT and crisis negotiators were on the scene. The situation began around 10 am Monday and was still going on at least 12 hours later. No injuries have been reported.
