SEA CLIFF, NY — Police have arrested a Glen Cove man who they said was responsible for a violent robbery at knifepoint last month in Sea Cliff. Gregory Czaplicki, 23, of Glen Cove, approached a 23-year-old man who was sitting in a car on the night of Feb. 28 at Memorial Park, police said.
Czaplicki opened the car door and demanded the man hand over his wallet, police said. He then repeatedly hit the victim and showed a knife, authorities said.
Czaplicki took off, heading east on 12th Avenue. Police announced early Sunday he was arrested and faces charges of 1st-degree robbery, 3rd-degree assault, and 2nd-degree menacing.
He was scheduled to appear Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
