PLUMSTEAD, PA — An 18-year-old has been accused of stabbing and stealing from another teenager, police said. The Plumstead Township Police Department were dispatched to Doylestown Hospital around 5 p.m. Friday, after a report of an 18-year-old stabbed at the Colonial Village Motel in Plumstead. Investigators determined he had gone to the motel to meet someone, later identified as Andrew Metzler, to purchase $300 in marijuana from him. Metzler got into the backseat, pulled a gun, and demanded the man turn over his money, police said. They said the young man then drove up to Metzler, got out of the car, and began pleading with him to give the money back. Police said he then took a step toward Metzler and "was stabbed" in his upper abdomen. A passenger drove the young man to the hospital, and then to a trauma center where he was treated for his injuries, according to a news release. Metzler faces felony charges of robbery and aggravated assault, and misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another. Metzler was arraigned by District Judge Jan Vislowski, who set bail at 10 percent of $350,000. He was then sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility where he awaits a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for May 2 at District Court in Ottsville.
