UE Chooses Athletic Director from California

By John Gibson, WNIN April 26, 2022 The University of Evansville has hired a new athletic director. UE President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz has announced the hiring of Dr. Kenneth Siegfried as the university's new Director of Athletics. Siegfried joins UE from California State University Bakersfield where he has served as Director of Athletics and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs since August 2015. In a release, Pietruszkiewicz said Siegfried has a "proven track record of success." He joins a struggling Division One program at UE, where the men's basketball team posted one of the school's worst-ever records, and has lost a number of players since the season ended. In the release, Siegfried called it an honor to join the University of Evansville. He called it "a special place with a great deal of potential." WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
