Description
Press release from the City of Glen Cove:
November 5 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CITY OF GLEN COVE BOAT RAMP DOCKS TO BE REMOVED WEEK OF NOV. 9
ATTENTION ALL BOATERS:
The City of Glen Cove Department of Parks & Recreation will be removing the docks from the City of Glen Cove Boat Ramp at the end of Garvies Point Road during the week of November 9th, tide and weather permitting.
With the warm weather predicted for this weekend, it is highly suggested that anyone who needs to remove their boats should plan ahead to do so this weekend. In past years, many boaters who moor in Hempstead Harbor have been caught in difficult situations by not having their boats dry docked prior to the dock removal at the City's Boat Ramp.
In addition, City of Glen Cove Kayak rack permit holders – for the racks at Garvies Point and Pryibil Beach – must remove their kayaks from the racks by December 1. Please plan ahead and secure them for the winter weather that lies ahead.
Any questions or concerns may be directed to Darcy Belyea, Director of Parks & Recreation, at (516) 676-3766.
