KENNESAW, GA — Video captured a Georgia man's car flying through the air and nearly slamming into a gas pump after he struck an embankment over the weekend. Police believe the driver may have been high on psychedelic mushrooms. (Watch the video below.) According to the Kennesaw Police Department, just before 7 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the Texaco gas station on Moon Station Road in reference to a person driving under the influence. Once on scene, police said they located a white 2001 Cadillac Deville wrecked near the gas pumps. They also met with the driver, Noah Washington, 23, of Woodstock who told officers he needed help. Washington told police he drove his parents' vehicle from their house in Woodstock and believed someone was chasing him and trying to kill him. "During my investigation, Washington was displaying erratic behavior such as jittering movements and speaking incoherently at times. Due to his erratic behavior, Washington was detained at 0704 hours, placing his hands behind his back and securing his wrists with handcuffs which were checked for fit and double locked," a portion of the incident report reads. Medics arrived on scene to check Washington for injuries. While doing so, police said he uttered that he was "tripping" on psychedelic mushrooms and that he had consumed six of them before he drove. Washington was then arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital to be further examined and ultimately transported to Acworth Jail.
