Press release from the University of Alaska Anchorage: April 25, 2022 ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage head hockey coach Matt Shasby announced that Brett Bamber has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Seawolves for the 2022-23 season. "We are very fortunate to be getting Brett on our back end," said Matt Shasby. "He is an elite puck moving defenseman that can quarterback one of our power play units. He capped off a great junior career by being nominated for the Defenseman of the Year in the AJHL." Bamber, a 5-9, 175 lbs., defenseman appeared in 187 games for the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL. The St. Albert, Alberta, native scored 24 goals and 56 assists for 80 points during his junior career. Bamber served as team captain this season and finished with career-highs in goals (10), assists (27) and points (37). This press release was produced by the University of Alaska Anchorage.
