~4 year old, female cockatiel. Name is Niko. Recognizes her name & likes to sing / talk. Will whistle “pretty bird.” Will step-up when she wants to, but not fond of being forced to do it. She will also accept head pets at her own terms, mainly when she’s molting. She loves interacting with people and being on your shoulders and head. She likes to groom your hair and walk around the house. She is a joy to have around. I have had other birds in the past, but no longer do. I find that she doesn’t like to be housed with other birds. Will tolerate other birds as long as they’re caged separately, outside at separate times and as long as they leave her alone. She tends to fly away when another bird is in her bubble. Therefore, causing her to stress out. I believe this may be due to the fact that she has been an only bird for the first year of her life, so she doesn’t like to interact with other birds as much. For this reason, I’d prefer it if she go to an only bird home. I am in no rush to rehome her. I am going to be picky & will only rehome her to those who have previous bird experience! She will come with her A&E dome top cage, link provided for more info, the only issue is that the link shows a Victorian top. I couldn’t find one with the dome top, but same measurements stand. Top does open, but doesn’t need a wooden perch for it & didn’t come with one. She will also come with her heavy duty bird stand as well. In addition, she will come with all her other items, i.e extra toys & heater + food. She currently eats a seed-only diet, she did eat a pellet diet, but with the previous parakeets, she had a taste of their seed diet & has since refused pellets. She loves her leafy greens & broccoli. For everything I’m asking $300. Price is negotiable, however not taking low-ballers as her cage & bird stand alone cost more than my asking price.
