Anyone out there writing a novel or a play or poetry collection? Anyone want to trade feedback? I’m working on a novel about a guy who tries to escape voluntary drug rehab only to realize he needs the help — it’s about family and addiction and I’m hoping it’s a little funny, a little dark, and a little hopeful. What I’m looking for are thought partners/editors/first readers/cool persons to trade work with. A little about me: I’m from the Bay Area (Menlo Park, Palo Alto), father of two boys, husband to the best wife, former educator (stopped when we moved South, at the start of COVID in 2020) and coach (water polo) — I like to read Stephen King, David Sedaris, Mary Oliver, Daniel Woodrell, David Foster Wallace, and whatever else is good. I like rock, alternative, hip-hop, rap, and some metal. I have a writing website where I post non-novel bits and pieces (short stories, journal entries, barf). I don’t believe any conspiracies (unless the Lizard People are considered a conspiracy, but c’mon...) and I’m a humanist (which only means that I think all people deserve my humanity). Also, I like dogs AND cats. I know, calm down. Lemme know if you’re up for some thought partnership. Nick
