NW Employment is partnered with a local Property Management Company In Portland, OR and we are looking for a Maintenance Technician to preserve the good condition and functionality of rental homes. A great variety of tasks day to day such as light plumbing, light electrical and woodworking among others. The ideal candidate will be able to be organized, work independently and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. Responsibilities • Evaluate homes and apartments, and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are working properly • Identify preventive maintenance concerns; report & address them • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and fixtures, switches & plugs, bathroom fans, etc.) • Maintain electrical heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality • Inspect and replace smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when needed • Securing points of entry to prevent pest intrusion • Educate tenants on proper mold prevention techniques • Submit work reports from on site to document expenses, duties and necessary follow up, if applicable. Skills • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and general ventilation systems • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices • Clean driving record to operate company take-home vehicle.
