WALLINGFORD, CT — Support is pouring in for a Wallingford family reeling from the loss of a beloved wife and mother after a battle with breast cancer. Natalie Clunan, who was a writer for OnlyInYourState.com, died Jan. 6 at the age of 49. She was the mother of two daughters. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the family to pay for an upcoming memorial/celebration of life ceremony along with any other outstanding medical expenses. The family is planning on beginning their healing process with some closure at Natalie's memorial on Jan. 25, according to the GoFundMe page. "Heaven has gained an ANGEL, however I have lost my Best Friend - Girlfriend - Lover & Wife!" Andy Clunan wrote on the GoFundMe page. "My daughters Mackenzie & Sierra have lost, not only their Mom, but a Mentor. Natalie was the most selfless person we could have ever known. Devoted Wife & Mother that has been a huge part of their daily lives since day one." Natalie was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer on Oct. 18, 2019 and it had metastasized throughout her body in an "unusual rapid rate," according to Andy Clunan. "Treatment commenced immediately, however, it was too late to catch up," Andy wrote. "For the last 10 weeks, my daughters & I sat by her side in Smilow Cancer Center with high hopes and praying that Natalie would be blessed with a miracle recovery. "Sadly, treatment & prayers were not enough to save her life. On Jan. 6th, I got the inevitable phone call at 3:30 a.m. from the Cancer center. Natalie had passed at 3:24 a.m. Our lives will never be the same from this minute forward." More than $3,300 has been raised in the first two days of the GoFundMe campaign as of Wednesday afternoon.
