DRUMMER WITH 20 YRS. EXPERIENCE SEEKS TO CREATE UNIQUE ARRANGEMENT IN THE NEK: With just the formation of an idea, I am beginning my search to create a unique, full band in the NEK of Vermont. I am a drummer with 20 years of experience playing, gigging, recording, writing music, and being a member of many bands. I am seeking to create a full band with musical inspirations that are outside-the-box of this area's usual rock/classic-rock/folk/country vibes. I am looking to create a unique musical sound blending elements of progressive rock/funk/jazz, electronic equipment, Dn'B drumming styles, and "fresh" sounds to create a project akin to Snarky Puppy, Mars Volta, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Incubus, etc. Now, hear me out - I know these bands are all vastly different! These bands all use creativity not only with their instruments, but ON them. Things like integrating odd electronic equipment, modulation of acoustic sounds via electronic equipment, having turntables as an actual instrument, integrating drum samples, audio processing of specific items inside your favorite DAW, and more. My project has no creative limits and I'm seeking a bass player, guitar player, and singer to start off with. If I could find a keyboard player and horn players to integrate, all the better! If you have an instrument or skill that's not listed but you think could be a good fit, please get in touch. Again, this is a very open-minded project. I'm looking for people who are creative/limitless with their instruments and aren't locked into any particular style. I have some samples of an EP I've created over the past year or two to get us going with some ideas/sounds/etc., but truly need to fill out the rest of the gamut with other individuals looking to create something wild as well! I have practice facilities available in St. Johnsbury, and am available for contact at the number listed on the ad. I do prefer a call as I don't email often. The ultimate goal here it to create a list of original songs and perhaps some covers, then take this project and begin booking in and outside of the NEK area. As a gigging drummer, I'd love to consistently have 2-3 gigs per month once this project takes off. Pre-COVID, I was regularly playing venues such as Higher Ground and Nectar's in Burlington, and with this project will be there again in no time. My day job consists of building websites and handling online marketing, so in the past I've also been the go-to guy for creating band websites, logos, pulling together EPK's, etc. I am more than happy to handle that aspect of things as well moving forward.
