WALLINGFORD, CT — An East Hampton man was killed in a fiery crash that closed part of I-91 in Wallingford for several hours on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
The Connecticut Post reports the crash happened around 3 p.m. when the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 lost control and hit a wire rope guardrail near Exit 14 on I-91 North. The car continued over to the grassy area in the median and hit a concrete bridge support and burst into the flames, according to the Post.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old David Valentine of East Hampton, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WTNH News 8.
WTNH News 8 reports the crash, which remains under investigation, closed I-91 North between Exits 13 and 14 for about six hours on Saturday.
