Description

It’s all about connections. You never know when a key contact will click. It could be life changing, a rebirth of a childhood memory or friendship, or a new job. The latest connection for James C. Metzger developed into a new business relationship with Bruderman Brothers and Allyance Media Group. The ball started rolling with Rob Pannell. Following the completion of the 2019 lacrosse season, Pannell, the star of the New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse, was engaged in a casual conversation with Matt Hull, a lifelong friend and lacrosse colleague. Pannell is associated with Metzger’s The Whitmore Agency, a leading insurance and financial services firm headquartered in Garden City. Hull is with Bruderman Brothers, an investment banking house providing holistic advisory services. Following the chat, Pannell and Metzger were introduced to Matthew Bruderman, the chairman and CEO of Bruderman Brothers. Soon after, Whitmore created several insurance programs for Bruderman Brothers and also for a handful of its portfolio companies. The timing and chemistry between the organizations then led to another opportunity. Brunderman is co-founder, with Tony DiSanto, of Allyance Media Group. DiSanto has enjoyed a long successful history in television with series, specials and feature films. During a meeting with Metzger, DiSanto's Allyance team showcased the early stages of Million Dollar Beach House. Allyance presented the series to Netflix. The show took flight and began trending on Netflix within a few weeks of its debut. Soon after, Metzger became an Allyance investor, anticipating more success on the small screen. The connections that began with Pannell and Hull, and that now have developed into a working relationship among Whitmore, Bruderman Brothers and Allyance Media Group, are featured in the current edition of Social Life, the luxury magazine for the Hamptons and Manhattan. Metzger, Pannell and Bruderman appear on the cover of the issue and their “connections” story begins on page 48. Photo: Matthew Bruderman, left, and James C.
