Description

The December issue of the Long Island Press features The Whitmore Agency’s James C. Metzger and his philosophy about the power of charity. “There’s an enormous gratification one can derive from supporting charities, foundations, and communities,” said Metzger in the cover feature article. “I really believe making a difference in someone’s life will make you feel better about yourself.” The two-page article, “Donor Shares Why It’s Better To Give Than To Receive” (click here), explains the community service initiatives that are a core value of Metzger’s business philosophy to support his clients and their neighborhoods. He is the founder, chairman and CEO of The Whitmore Agency. Metzger’s contributions focus mostly on Nassau and Suffolk counties but he also supports programs throughout New York City and nearby counties of New Jersey. Metzger indicated that this year more than ever nonprofit organizations require consideration from people who can afford to contribute financially to one or more causes. CORVID-19 has not only affected families and businesses, according to Metzger, but the virus also has harmed nonprofits. Charities have received fewer donations and fewer volunteers this year. Consequently, these organizations have reduced programs on which so many people rely to help them get through a day. The many programs supported by Metzger and The Whitmore Agency include American Vet Dogs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, Boys & Girls Club of Newark, Canine Companions for Independence, Hempstead Police Athletic League Lacrosse Program, Hofstra University and the YMCA of Jamaica.
