A playful voice class delivering vocal experiences and tools beneficial for individuals, professionals, and educators. Come learn about the five elements of the voice: air, metal, water, fire, and earth. Knowing these sounds, and exploring them within your voice, will give you the tools to bring more clarity and connection into your vocal communications. You will also hear the voices of others in a fresh way, with additional insights. We provide a playful learning environment and there are no prerequisites. Everyone is welcome! The class is designed and led by local community song leader and Full Voice coach, Fehlya Ehrlander. Fehlya received her training directly from Barbara McAfee, organizational development consultant, keynote speaker, and author of 'Full Voice: The Art and Practice of Vocal Presence'. Fehlya's lifelong love of singing has grown into a passion for sharing vocal joy and harmonious expression with others through her song leading, vocal coaching, and educational workshops. The goal of this gathering is to experience vocal joy, increase vocal awareness, and come away with some tools to strengthen your family, community, and/or office communication. Aligned vocal communication reduces unnecessary conflict, makes tough discussions easier, and builds trust. This class is held in a cozy piano/library room on the westside of Olympia. When you are here, you are invited to practice self care anytime and ask questions as they arise. Minimum 5 participants. Participants often enjoy bringing an extra warm layer for the chill from the open windows. Bringing your own water or tea is also helpful. Yoga mats and floor pillows are available, in addition to sofa or sturdy chair seating. There is a participation waiver to sign upon arrival.
