WALLINGFORD, CT — A man wanted in connection with a home invasion in Wallingford in 2009 was recently taken into custody in Texas and extradited to Connecticut, according to police. The arrest stems from a home invasion that happened on Saddlebrook Drive in Wallingford on Oct. 9, 2009. During the incident, an 18-year-old male resident was attacked and restrained by four intruders, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe. The four suspects were inside the home for about 20 minutes and stole a "large amount" of money, along with jewelry and electronics, according to Colavolpe. Investigators sent forensic evidence from the scene to a state laboratory for analysis. In Oct. 2013, one of the four suspects was identified through DNA evidence as Victor Miguel Siguenzia Lozano, 46, who is also known as Miguel Lozano Altamiran, according to Colavolpe. Wallingford police obtained an arrest warrant for Lozano. "After the identification, detectives learned Lozano was arrested in 2010 by the Branford and Wethersfield Police Departments for similar type incidents as the one occurring in Wallingford," Colavolpe wrote in a news release. "Lozano was convicted of these incidents and sentenced to serve jail time. In April 2013, after he served jail time, Lozano was released to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and subsequently deported to Ecuador." Wallingford police were notified by the U.S. Marshal Service this month that they had taken Lozano into custody in Texas, according to Colavolpe. Lozano was held for extradition back to Connecticut at the Harris County Detention Center in Houston. Wallingford police detectives traveled to Texas and took custody of Lozano. He was taken back to Connecticut to face charges from the 2009 incident. Lozano was charged with home invasion, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, first-degree unlawful restraint along with conspiracy to commit each charge. He was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 6.
