Overview: Concord Academy, an independent boarding and day school for grades 9 through 12 located in Concord, Massachusetts, seeks a Plumber to join our Operations Team. Chartered in 1922, the school currently enrolls approximately 400 boarding and day students from 10 countries and territories and 15 states. The successful applicant will have a commitment to advancing the core tenets of the school’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Grounds the Plumber maintains and provides for the condition and operation of all plumbing systems in CA’s campus. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in all areas of plumbing (including installation, maintenance and repair, as well as, general maintenance of equipment and tools needed for this role). This role requires hard-working, meticulous, patient, and flexible qualities. We seek a candidate who is able to communicate effectively with individuals across the school community. Responsibilities: - Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. - Troubleshoot source of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs. - Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment. - Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections. - Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption. - Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates. Requirements: - High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent. - 5 years of experience in plumbing field. - Current MA Plumbing license. - Valid driver’s license. - Proficient in using manual and power tools and able to operate equipment common to the trade. - Knowledge of plumbing codes. - Must pass background checks.
