About the Speaker Ray “RJ” Lewis is a entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and mentor.  He has dedicated his career to encouraging others to reach higher levels of achievement with his faith based approach to conquering life’s most difficult tasks.  RJ is a former executive for companies such as Walmart Corporation and AT&T. He was a two-time collegiate football champion defensive back who achieved his Bachelors degree in psychology and went on to play in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints. Following his football career, he returned to his alma mater, Hampton University, and continued his education by earning his Master’s degree in Counseling in 2010. He expanded his impact by becoming an associate professor and also creating a unique player development platform to emphasize life skills in student- athletes. He was honored to be selected to the prestigious NCAA Coaching Academy in 2009 and was privileged to return the following year as a keynote speaker on player development for the entire NCAA coaches Conference. Sharing his phenomenal talent to deliver key information, RJ has delivered speeches that range in topics from educational reform to diversity to international audiences. Partnering with major corporations such as Walmart, AT&T and McDonalds, he has been blessed to share his message of interpersonal development. He has also been a panelist at festivals such as Essence and Shout Fest focusing on the topic of relationship values. A recognized influencer, RJ was privileged to be selected to represent President Obama's Marginalized Youth Initiative as a speaker. His voice was heard delivering speeches on development and marginalization not only state side, but internationally at universities such as McMaster (Canada) and Oxford (UK). His smooth voice can also be heard in several National Parks as he was a contributor to the digital story telling project that highlighted the lives of several influential African Americans. He was honored to be a part of Hampton University's Forty Under 40 cohort. A Los Angeles, California native and proud father of one son, Devin-Ray J. Lewis. RJ is currently running his multidimensional development company RJ Lewis Consulting which focuses on development projects that range from community relations to physical training and exercise.
