Carpenter's Apprentice/ Helper

Jobs

Concord NH

Description

I am a residential renovation contractor/ 20 year carpenter looking to add a carpenter's helper/ carpenter team member to assist with upcoming summer and fall projects. We mainly focus on interior renovations including bathroom and kitchens, but do many other types of interior and exterior carpentry projects as well. This position requires someone who is in good shape physically; this is a skilled labor trade so you must be able to think on your feet and it definitely helps if you are athletic/ eat a clean diet. Applicants need to be mechanically inclined. Some people are naturally good at working with their hands, some people are not. If you are not, it will become readily apparent very quickly on the job site. Successful applicant will be working directly alongside me, the owner of the company, directly assisting with the carpentry aspects of renovation and building projects. This position will provide the opportunity to learn frame to finish carpentry skills including framing, tile work, drywall, painting, window/ door installation, cabinet installation, finish trim carpentry, and more. These skills are very in demand right now and will continue to be for at least the next 10- 15 years. It's a great time to be in the trades. Applicant does not necessarily need to have past experience, although past experience is a big bonus and pay will increase commensurate with experience. You will be treated as a respected team member. I'm seeking someone who is eager to learn and work and has a positive attitude. I'm looking for someone who is okay with a somewhat flexible schedule, I can be somewhat flexible with your schedule as well. It will typically be 25- 40 hours per week Monday- Friday. Most of my projects are in the Concord, NH area. Also to note and be up front- I usually travel for 2 months in the winter (January and February), so there may not be work those months (I may be able to put you in touch with other contractors who can keep you working those months). Most days the schedule is ~9:30 am start to 5:30- 6 pm go home. We are often working in people's homes, so I am seeking someone who is trustworthy, well mannered, and can be clean and neat in appearance. No smoking on or near any jobsites. Please respond with a cover paragraph about yourself, your availability regarding schedule, current/ past work experience, desired pay, if you have a valid driver's license/ a vehicle, and a resume if you have one. If you don't have a resume, please include your relevant work experience and education. Thank you for reviewing, I look forward to hearing from you.
