This experience will be multi-sensory, as you will also be immersed in original meditation music produced exclusively for this event by Mr. PJ Beats. Susie Hernandez of Gongsia Sacred Sound Sessions will provide a live, organic, cosmic sound bath with gongs, crystal bowls, chimes and a variety of other healing instruments . To round out the evening, a grounding, communal drum circle will be led by Said Jalajal aka Mr. PJ Beats for those who wish to participate. Extra drums will be available! No prior meditation or yoga experience necessary, beginners are encouraged to attend! Ancient yogic techniques will be led by Internationally Certified Yoga instructor, Rajesh Sekhar. Here's what to expect:1. Pranayama - Breathing Practices to Channel & Balance Vital Energies 2. Asanas - Stretches & Poses w/ Awareness to Promote Blood Flow & Open Breathing Passages 3. Kundalini Yoga - Practices that work with the dormant energy at the base of the spine -- these include Detoxification, Breathing, and Meditative practices. 4. Visual Meditation - A Yantra is a mystic symbol in the form of a geometric diagram. A Yantra can be used as an aid for meditation. It is a 2-dimensional representation of the subconscious mind. Steady gazing into the center of a Yantra progresses into clear mental visualization of the object of concentration - this realigns subconscious energies and helps re-establish a balanced mindstate. 5. Comfortable clothing & a pillow/cushion to sit onYoga mat Open mind (this is a judgment-free space)I have never done yoga /I’m not flexible, should I come still come? Absolutely, everyone has to start somewhere. Many students have never taken a yoga class before coming to this session. Whether you are an experienced Yogi or someone who just wants to explore a more holistic lifestyle, there is space for you. All levels are welcome! I've tried to meditate, and I can't stop my thoughts. How is this any different? Being able to sit silently in deep, trance-like meditation is actually a very advanced practice, and it is definitely not easy! Mantra meditation involves controlling the input to the senses by creating specific vibrations via chanting and by isolating the senses of touch, sight, hearing, and taste all at once. Group chanting allows the practitioner to "tune in" to the sounds all around as well as the subtle vibrations which take place throughout the entire body, which results in brainwave synchronization and leads to a meditative state. This is a great introductory class!
