Join us at the Live @ Five Points Event Center every 2nd Sunday of the month for a night of incredible, local jazz music.
This month we welcome the Morton High School Jazz Band and Water Street Stompers for a full afternoon of jazz.
The Morton High School Jazz Ensemble is an extracurricular activity for students which starts in Spring Semester. Rehearsals are held one evening a week on Tuesdays. Entrance into the Jazz Ensemble requires an audition and is made up of traditional jazz instruments including saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and drum set. The Jazz Band performs at several area events and concerts each year including the Mid-Illini Jazz Festival. Morton High School Jazz band is under the direction of Jeff Arbisi.
The Water Street Stompers bring the spirit of Mardi Gras to Peoria with traditional New Orleans Jazz. Led by Todd Kelly, the group includes Harlan Geiser on trombone, Doug Stewart on sax, Carl Bopp on piano, Jason Shea on bass, and Jeremy Clark on drums. Come hear this lively ensemble to brighten up your Sunday afternoon!
We will have a fully stocked bar, complete with drink specials and specialty cocktails from 2:30-3:00 pm and again following the high school's performance until 6:00 pm. Bottled water and soft drinks will be available throughout.
