UPDATE 5:20 p.m Tuesday: Police have identified the person killed as Jorge Soto, of Freeport. FREEPORT, NY — A collision between two boats in the waters of Freeport injured several people and killed one, Nassau County police said. According to police, the department's Marine Bureau responded to Freeport Creek near Cow Meadow Park at 6:45 p.m. Saturday for a collision between two boats. Seven people were injured in the crash, and they were all taken to a nearby hospital. Four of them had minor injuries and two had serious trauma. A 25-year-old man, whose identity has not been released by police, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
