WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Masks were back to being required on Monday for the Whitefish Bay School District, according to a letter the district sent out to parents.
Everyone in the district will be required to wear a mask for at least the next two weeks after the North Shore's COVID-19 community case burden increased above certain limits set by the school board, according to the letter sent to parents. A North Shore community burden rate of 350 or greater is the criteria making masks required again — the burden as of Friday was at 415.
In seven days leading up to Friday, 46 positive cases were confirmed or considered probable in Whitefish Bay, the NSHD data show.
In Whitefish Bay, 11,861 people, or 84.9 percent of the community's population have completed the vaccine series against COVID-19 as of Friday, according to data from the North Shore Health Department.
Data put out by the school district show 17 active positive cases of COVID-19 among students and staff at all schools.
District updates are available through a dashboard on its website.
