EAST HARLEM, NY — An innocent bystander was shot in East Harlem on Sunday when she was caught in the crossfire between two rival groups, according to police. The 43-year-old woman was walking around 7:30 p.m. near the corner of Madison Avenue and East 132nd Street when gunfire broke out between the two unidentified groups. A bullet struck her in the right leg, according to an NYPD spokesperson. She was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been reported but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
