Create your own Gyotaku (Ghee-yo-tah-koo)!
Before the invention of the camera, Japanese anglers made ink block replicas to document the fish they caught. Using a rubber fish, paint, and rice paper, you can create a replica of your “catch.” Together we will learn about the history of Japanese fish printing, features that define a fish, and have fun creating beautiful art work! This program is recommended for children all ages! Paint is non-toxic and comes off easily.
We will meet at the Visitors Center at Hither Hills State Park Campground.
