Kalliope Reed Quintet, URI Composers’ concert, and the Notable Works Ensemble
The New Music Festival is presenting three events on May 7.
All events are free and open to the public.
The Kalliope Reed Quintet
Concert at 3pm: Earth and the Environment
Among the pieces on the program we will have Zach Friedland's “Drift.” Kalliope will also premier Eliane Aberdam’s LaTierra No Se Vende as well as the winning composition of one of our composition students.
At 5pm:
The Kalliope Reed Quintet will hold a workshop for all composition and reed instrument students and teachers. They will talk about rehearsal techniques, composition techniques and read the work of 5 composition students who sent them their fresh-ink quintets. This includes a Q&A.
At 7pm:
URI Composers’ concert and the Notable Works Ensemble
This concert will feature ‘fresh-ink’ pieces by URI composers and by the Notable Works Ensemble (composer Noreen Inglesi).
Visitors/Faculty/Students of the University of Rhode Island are required to wear a mask while attending events or performing in our building.
This is current URI policy and we are unable to make exceptions to this rule.
