Coronavirus: Norton Acknowledges 'Surge' Of Positive Tests

NORTON, MA — Norton Health Agent Christian Zahner is urging residents to reach out friends and loved ones to offer support after the town "surged" to 79 positive cases of the new coronavirs. Zahner said 49 of those cases are out of isolation and on the "road to recovery" but said, sadly, there have been two deaths in town. "We have been nonstop at the Board of Health," Zahner said. "This has been such a difficult time for everyone and I want to remind you all that there is no better time than the present to reach out to friends and loved ones, and show each other some support through these tough times." Zahner suggested video chats to help those in isolation feel connected during the coronavirus health crisis. "We are currently in what they call 'The Surge' in Massachusetts and we need to continue the great commitment to social distancing, washing our hands, cover our face with a mask or scarf when we are in public, and constant cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces at work and at home," Zahner said. "We can do this. We can get through this together. Hopefully, all this hard work that we are putting in now will pay off later and allow us to maybe find a new normal in the near rather than the distant future. I'm optimistic, I hope you are as well."
