Description
Lets establish a local network of Stakeholders and Regenerative Agriculturists/land stewards who wish to organize opportunities for regenerative land use practices and financial stewardship!!
As farmers and land owners reach retirement age they begin to consider selling land to meet the financial needs of their families. The risk is that land, held for generations, will fall into the hands of greedy developers and continue to jeopardize the integrity of this watershed.
Young farmers, like myself, strive for a future which includes healthy soil, clean water and an economy based on the needs of our community. This includes food security, jobs, and ensuring the integrity of this land for future generations. If you are a land owner or agriculturist seeking economic stability and a strong earth centric community network I encourage you to look into the Montana Agrarian Commons.
"The Montana Agrarian Commons is a statewide partnership that brings together a community land trust, an organic grain and crop farm, a stewardship education institute, and Agrarian Trust to support affordable and secure land access for regenerative food production, ecological stewardship, and education opportunities.
We aim to prioritize secure land tenure and equity building for diverse groups of people, including beginning farmers who would otherwise not be able to access land for agriculture due to prices, discrimination, and other socioeconomic barriers. The Montana Agrarian Commons is working with organizations, institutions, and governmental agencies in Montana to create opportunities for food-focused regenerative agriculture and financial stewardship throughout the state."
