Farm Camp is a full fun of learning all about life on an animal rescue farm.
The day begins with instruction about the different animals living on the farm, their needs, the kids expected behavior around the animals, the differences in animals (species and as individuals), etc.
The kids work together to help prep & feed the animals breakfast & fill up their water buckets. They also help with light chores scooping poop, adding shavings & straw to their beds.
Each day highlights a difference species or two in special classes. The farm has horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens & ducks, as well as exotics animals like Maras, tortoises, turtles, lizards, frogs, snakes, parrots, rabbits, Guinea pigs & more.
We break for a quick fruit snack around 10:30 & campers have a Lunch break around 12:30. Followed by relaxing time. (Campers bring their own lunch & snacks & drinks)
The afternoon includes another animal lesson, environmental games, art in nature & taking the goats or ponies for a nature hike.
After that the kids have free time to spend doing their favorite farm activity until pick up time around 4pm.
Kids should come dressed for the weather. No open toe shoes/crocks/sandals allowed. Gym shoes, rubber Wellington’s, or cowboy type boots are fine.
Parents should apply bug spray & sun block of their choice prior to arrival & bring it if additional applications are required.
All kids to bring their own sack lunch, a snack, and a water bottle. Baseball caps or sun visors come in handy too on hot sunny days!
