NORTON, MA — The Bristol County District Attorney's Office identified the 38-year-old man who died after an apparent crystal methamphetamine lab explosion at his Faith Way home early Saturday Monday. The DA's Office said Edward Norton died at Sturdy Memorial Hospital about two hours after the explosion.
The DA's Office said Norton police responded to Faith Way for a report of explosion about 1 a.m. on Saturday and found the home damaged with no one inside. It was determined that Rooney fled the scene in a vehicle after the explosion.
Attleboro polie and fire responded to a Pike Avenue residence a short while later for a report of a man who was screaming outside of a home. The homeowners said they allowed Rooney inside the mudroom, where he collapsed moments later. Rooney was pronounced dead at 2:38 a.m.
The investigation remains ongoing and the medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy.
