High: 77 Low: 62. Here are the top five stories in New Orleans today: A Kenner woman was found dead inside her home by NOPD after she had been beaten to death with a hammer by her son. Officers arrived at her residence to investigate a hit and run when the son answered the door. When officers asked where she was, the son confessed to the crime. He was arrested and booked with a second-degree murder charge. (NOLA.com) The St. Bernard Sheriff's Office has launched a new program to help serve people with autism and other physical and mental disabilities. Once caregivers register for the program, they can disclose helpful information that will be made accessible to police if the individual is ever found in a crisis. (WGNO New Orleans) Councilman Green has proposed a new city ordinance to help combat the recent string of illegal car stunt shows seen on St. Bernard and Fillmore avenues. The ordinance would make it illegal to block traffic while illegally operating a vehicle, violators would have to pay a $1000 fine upon their first offense.
