This 4-hour workshop is geared towards employees who are responsible to train other employees in how to do their job while doing their job.
Learning Objectives:At the conclusion of this training, the participant will be able to:Better prepare for process training delivered on the job by determining performance objectives and understanding learner needsUtilize effective communication techniques that will aid the learner’s understanding and recall through explanation and demonstrationDetermine if learner has acquired the skills necessary to be considered proficient through observationProvide feedback and guidance to the learner as they apply new skillsTopics Covered:A brief overview of how adults learn and how that impacts how we train themThe goals of OJT – remember, apply and become consistent and confident in that applicationThe baseline of learning – how to earn the trust of the people you are trainingPrepare for the training – know the performance objectives, familiarize yourself with the content, plan your introduction and encourage participation.Telling – methods of explanation, examples, encouraging questions and involving the learnerShowing – Demonstrations, sequencing, visual aids, repetitionChecking – observing the learner perform the job, determining level of masteryGuide – adding to understanding, reinforcing, providing feedback, summarizeParticipants will get several opportunities to practice the topics that are presented and get feedback.
