Press release from the City of Louisville: April 21, 2022 Louisville – Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14) is inviting community members to purchase their tickets for the upcoming Mayor's Derby Brunch on the River, which is the main fundraiser supporting the historic Riverside in District 14. After a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, the annual Mayor's Derby Brunch will be back in action on Sunday, May 1, to help kick off Derby Week. This official Kentucky Derby Festival event features music, an authentic Kentucky breakfast, live and silent auctions, tours of the Farnsley-Moremen House, and much more. "I'm thrilled that the Mayor's Derby Brunch is back this year! Riverside is a hidden gem in southwest Louisville, and I encourage everyone to come experience it for yourself and get in the Derby spirit at the same time," said Councilwoman Fowler. The Farnsley-Moremen House was built in 1837 overlooking the Ohio River, and it is now the centerpiece of a park known as Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing. The property is considered a historic site and was purchased by Jefferson County in 1989. The Mayor's Derby Brunch is the biggest fundraiser for Riverside to help support its goals of promoting and preserving historic farm life on the Ohio River. Around 275 seats have already been reserved for this year's event. The deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday, April 26. Tickets cost $100 for individuals and $750 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 502-935-6809.
