In Search of a Female Vocalist

Meets

Highway 9 near San Lorenzo Way, Ben Lomond CA

Description

I'm searching for a female vocalist (acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, upright bass or fiddle skills a plus, but certainly not necessary) to join me in an acoustic duo, with an eye towards forming a larger band once the foundation is complete. As far as "genre" is concerned, Americana (folk, country, bluegrass, etc.) probably covers it best. Ideally I'm looking for somebody for whom music is a passion/ obsession. My hope is to help create something that becomes an integral part of the Santa Cruz community, and the San Lorenzo Valley in particular. Here are the songs I currently have in mind: Albuquerque (Neil Young), Big Sur (Jar Farrar), California Stars (Wilco), Elderly Woman (Eddie Vedder), Father Death Blues (Allen Ginsburg), Hello In There (John Prine), Hickory Wind (Gram Parsons), Life In Vain (Daniel Johnston), Look At Miss Ohio (Gillian Welch), Our Town (Iris Dement), Pancho & Lefty (Townes Van Zandt), Plane Wreck At Los Gatos/Deportee (Woody Guthrie), Pocahontas (Neil Young), Santa Cruz (Eddie Vedder), Side Of The Road-Lucinda Williams, Summer's End (John Prine), Upward Over The Mountain (Iron & Wine), Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show), Walking Far From Home (Iron & Wine), and Walking The Cow (Daniel Johnston). If anything I've said here sparks your interest, please email me or shoot me a text. I can email you all of the lyric & chord sheets for these songs, as well as videos & mp3s if you're unfamiliar with any of them.
