Carpenter's Helper / Apprentice Needed
Jobs
Ault CO
Description
Carpenter's Helper will start at entry level, No Experience Necessary, and work into an Apprentice Carpenter position and further to become skilled and knowledgeable with other trades. Have you taken a shop class? Worked over a summer doing any kind of job at all? Built something using your own two hands? Repaired something? Do you want to learn a trade rather than going into a mountain of student debt? Do you have a can do attitude and take corrective criticism and apply it to yourself to improve and perform better? Can you show up on time consistently? Do you have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation? We would like to meet you and see if we are a good fit for each other. We will provide training, tools, and support you on your journey to become a construction professional. Our expectation for you is that you eventually learn skills for multiple construction trades with the goal being that they would eventually rise in knowledge and skill and take on a project manager position years down the road with us. Basic knowledge and skills for every trade will be taught including but not limited to: * How to measure something accurately and how to read a tape measure correctly. * Construction SAFETY. * Construction Cleanup. * Tool names, uses, care and storage. * How to find and mark an accurate plumb line. * How to find and mark an accurate level line. * Drive a nail. * Screw in a screw. * Caulk gaps with an appropriate medium. * Stain, varnish, primer and paint wood etc. * How to make precise cuts, based on accurate measurements, using a variety of saws (circular, chop, jig, etc). * How to drill an appropriate hole with a drill bit, hole saw, etc for the appropriate material and use. This is achieved by working with several different construction professionals in a mentor / mentee dynamic and under the guidance of a General Contractor. Your primary duties will be fetching tools for the mentor you are assigned to for the day. Fetching needed materials. Cleaning up after your mentor. Keeping tools and materials organized for your mentor. And especially watching what your mentor is doing, when they are doing it, how they are doing it, what they are doing before doing it and what they are doing after doing it. Your goal should be to accurately anticipate what they will need next and prepare it for them. Set them up for success by keeping everything in good condition, organized and ready when needed. Once this level is reached and you are able to perform consistently what is needed then you will move on to Apprentice Carpenter. We are a locally owned and operated company servicing all of Northern Colorado and sometimes beyond. We are licensed and ensured to work in multiple states and cities with a custom cabinetry shop in Ault CO. We recognize our responsibility to train and support the next generation of citizens and are very invested in our community.
